When you have invested a lot in capturing valuable footage, oftentimes in dangerous and difficult situations, you want this information to be shielded from accusations of being fake or modified. Our App makes it easier to verify the footage for media, advocacy and even courts of justice. The App permanently stamps the footage with the geolocation, date and time in a way that cannot be altered. Your footage can be uploaded to a secure server, which guarantees it has not – and will not –be tampered with. This traceable chain of custody makes it possible for your footage to be inserted as evidence in a trial. The App also has security features designed with input from teams working in high-risk environments. Most importantly, we do not collect any identifiable information about you that you do not wish to provide, and your footage remains strictly confidential. Think this might be useful to you? We can train and support you on how to best use our App.
Returning to a crime scene to collect more evidence can be dangerous and expensive. We can help you avoid this by collaborating with you in listing the most useful footage to capture. This way, your documenters can have a clear list of shots prior to any mission. At any moment, you may ask us for technical and legal support, as well as feedback, to make sure your footage is in line with your advocacy or legal strategy.
All the original footage you upload from the App to our server is backed up and stored for safekeeping. The eyeWitness server is located in a secure facility managed by one of the largest providers of legal storage. Only certain members of our staff and analysts can access the footage, and we will not show or share any of your data without consulting with you first. Because you want your footage to be useable, we help you by cataloguing, tagging and indexing it in a standardised manner. This way, you can easily find and retrieve photos related to specific sites or events, giving you a clearer view of your own footage, and can share it more easily with others.
You may have valuable footage but are unsure how to use it to achieve justice. We can guide you through the process of bringing your information to the attention of a number of authorities and investigative bodies. eyeWitness has relationships with e.g. the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, Europol and national war crimes units. By joining forces, we can expand the reach of your information, making sure it gets the attention it deserves.
Has the authenticity of your audio-visual material ever been questioned by judges or investigators? When you use our services, we are happy to back you up, for instance by issuing an affidavit, giving testimony in court, or providing the original media files as required.
